Well today was pretty much an amazing day. Christopher and I arrived at Deaconess women's and children center about 6:00am. I have been consistenly having contractions for weeks, so there is nothing new when we come in this morning and I am already contracting 3 minutes apart. We were instantly taken to our birth suite which is a huge corner room with ample space and nice windows for a view of sunny spokane. I am all checked in with a fashionable gown, extra large with open back, lots of snaps & a couple ties,,,,very cute.

Around 7:30 am or so, my IV has been inplace and I have now begun Pitocin.

8:10 am Dr. Messinger arrives and is ready to break my water.

By 8:20am mission accomplished. :-) water is broke.

So far so good,,,, so I am having contractions pretty consistently that are 2-3 minutes apart and pretty uncomfortable but not imbearable. We then just sat around really talking and waiting to see how things were progressing.

11:30 am- I am checked and I have labored to a 6 cm and now an epidural is on it's way. I wasn't in really kind of desparate pain, but didn't want to miss any opportunity for the "Good Stuff". :-) So now,,,we are really feeling good. Talk about an absolute amazing thing. Weird though,,,I can actually still move my legs very well,,,they just feel hot and numb.

Can't remember the exact time, but Riley, Lexi, Avery, my mom, grandma Rachel, Phil and Jan show up. It was fun ad exciting to have everyone here. It was nice to pass the time with everyone visiting.

1:30 pm- I am checked again and I am approximately 6-7cm and 100% effaced and she is actually moving down. Quincy is kind of positioned facing up,,,,which facing down works much better. My nurse says there is still plenty of room for her to turn around and get into position so there is nothing to worry about. They now increase the pitocin a bit. I am still feeling great.

2:00 pm- I am changed into a different position so I am basically sitting up like I am in a chair. The foot of these nifty beds drops out so it was pretty easy to manuver around. This is for gravity to help Quincy along. Oh yeah, they upped the Pitocin again.

2:30 pm or so,, I am having definate contractions close together very strong and effective. I am sitting having a conversation with Jan, Christopher, Phil and Grandma Rachel and I say to them I am definately feeling her and she is coming down. I have 2 really good contractions now that I know,,,,WOW,,,,I think she is right there. The girls and my mom were out on a walk for a bit to feed the meters and pass the time.

Christopher goes and gets our nurse Laura, she checks me,,,and sure enough,,,I AM READY!!!!!!! YEAH, she then calls Dr. Messinger to come on in for the delivery. All of our family exits the room and the girls & my mom show up in time to here the news that Quincy is on her way. They all wait outside listening for the first cries.

At this point,,, it was probably about 2:45-2:50pm, they are getting everything set up,,,Dr. Messinger is here,,,everything is ready to go and we can go head and push. First waiting for a contraction. 1 long,,,,but easy push and little Quincy was on her way out. She was here!!!!!!!! Had a cord wrapped around her a little bit, but ok. COMPLETELY AMAZING!!!!!! she is actually here,,,,just like that. They layed her on my tummy for about 5 minutes or so rubbing her little precious body to stimulate her. She is doing great,,,,but I was kind of scared because really she didn't make any kinds of cries. She looked ok, kind of stunned from the whole thing,,,but she wasn't crying at all.

Well, she is great. They do take her over to the bed to start to clean her up and do her apgar tests and vital signs. We open the door and everyone comes in to see the newest addition. WE DID IT!!!!!!!!! Just like that,,,,,,,

I love it! I'm so glad that it was an easy day and that Quincy is here. I loved your description of her looking "stunned"- I'm sure it was a lot for her to go through, and very quickly!! Can't wait to sww you guys. :) good job Erin!

Another winner! All our grandbabies have been just absolutely picture perfect, and we're so happy that little Quincy arrived so easily and beautifully as well. Another miracle, for sure. Thanks so much for the great blog!

I am totally unbiased, but this baby is cute as a button. Christopher is going to have some challenges in about 14 years.
